We are currently seeking a talented and dynamic Content Development Officer to join our team and drive the content creation part of our mission forward.
Position Overview:
As a Content Development Officer, you will play a pivotal role in advancing the educational experience through the strategic application of technology and instructional design. You will be responsible for leveraging your expertise in instructional design, pedagogy, project management, and learning technologies to create engaging and effective online learning content. Your contributions will empower educators, including adult learners and higher education institutions, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in online education.
Responsibilities:
Instructional Design Proficiency: Adept in instructional design paradigms and practices to develop engaging and effective online learning content.
Pedagogy and Curriculum Expertise: Familiar with the latest trends, best practices, and assessment methods in pedagogy, curriculum development, and online learning.
Project Management: Experience in project management, ensuring timely and successful course content development.
Learning Management Systems (LMS): Proficient in utilizing Learning Management Systems to facilitate content delivery and learner engagement.
Content Authoring Tools: Familiarity with content authoring tools to enhance content development capabilities.
Productivity Skills: Skilled in productive conferencing and remote collaboration techniques to enhance team efficiency.
Communication Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills to convey ideas effectively.
Collaborative Team Player: Works effectively as part of a team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
Required Competencies:
Instructional Design Models: Proficiency in instructional design models such as ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation), SAM (Successive Approximation Model), and others to guide the development of learning materials.
Needs Analysis: Ability to conduct thorough needs assessments to identify learning objectives, audience characteristics, and performance gaps.
Learning Objectives: Skill in writing clear and measurable learning objectives that align with desired outcomes.
Content Development: Expertise in designing and organizing instructional content, including text, multimedia, and interactive elements.
Assessment and Evaluation: Proficiency in creating various types of assessments, including quizzes, tests, and performance assessments, and the ability to analyze learner performance data for continuous improvement.
Technology Integration: Knowledge of e-learning authoring tools, learning management systems (LMS), and other educational technologies to create and deliver digital content.
Multimedia Design: Skill in incorporating multimedia elements like videos, animations, and graphics to enhance learning experiences.
Accessibility and Universal Design: Understanding of accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG) and universal design principles to ensure content is inclusive and accessible to all learners.
Adult Learning Theory: Familiarity with theories of adult learning, including andragogy and self-directed learning, to design content suitable for adult learners.
User Experience (UX) Design: Ability to create user-friendly and intuitive interfaces for online courses and e-learning platforms.
Communication: Strong written and oral communication skills to convey complex ideas effectively and collaborate with subject matter experts and team members.
Storytelling: Skill in using storytelling techniques to engage learners and make content relatable.
Adaptability: Ability to adapt to new technologies and instructional design trends in the ever-evolving field of e-learning.
Collaboration: Collaboration skills to work effectively with subject matter experts, educators, and other stakeholders.
Feedback and Revision: Willingness to seek feedback and make revisions based on evaluation data and learner input.
Project Documentation: Ability to create documentation such as design documents, storyboards, and course outlines to guide the development process.
Faculty Training and Support: Experience in assisting faculty members in creating and publishing engaging e-learning content and monitoring learner progress.
Willingness to Relocate: Open to relocating to project sites across Ghana on temporary or permanent basis.
Qualifications:
This role emphasizes practical know-how over academic qualifications. A successful candidate should be able to practically demonstrate their ability to succeed in this role
Salary Range:
The gross salary for this position ranges between GHC32,000 to GHC38,000 per annum and the total annual compensation for the successful candidate will depend on multiple factors including the experience and anticipated value of the candidate to the company.
